CU Pharmacy Alumni Association Names 2023 Board Member

The alumni association for the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences recently selected it newest board member to begin a three year term this July. As a member of the Class of 2003 and a faculty member, Dr. Monika Nuffer brings a broad perspective to help direct the goals of the association.

Monika Nuffer, PharmD ‘03, is a certified clinical aromatherapist and a clinical pharmacist with expertise in Integrative Health and Medicine. She provides individualized consults where she evaluates and explains the safety and efficacy, as well as the pros and cons of different herbs and supplements patients, are taking or considering taking. Taking her patients’ complete medication profiles into account, she screens for interactions, duplications, and helps to optimize pharmacotherapy treatment at Integrative Medicine Center.

Monika holds faculty appointments at the University of Colorado in both the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and the School of Medicine. She serves in the role of the Academic and Experiential Program Coordinator for the Distance Degrees and Programs. Monika obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“I always have been an advocate for the students and graduates by giving back and participating as an alumna to further support our school mission, with the goal of students reciprocating in the future,” she says.

In her spare time, Monika enjoys traveling, woodworking, the great outdoors, and spending time with her family.
