On April 8, CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy hosted its Spring Interview Day, titled Hire CU Pharmacy. Twelve employers representing industry, retail and hospital environments were on site interviewing 80 students and alumni for a variety of positions. Two-hundred and five interviews were conducted in six hours and five offers were extended on-the-spot! Employer surveys indicated that 80% plan to extend an offer to a candidate they interviewed.
Companies included Allergan, Albertsons/Safeway, Denver Health, Good Day, King Soopers, Montrose Memorial Hospital, Parkview Medical Center, Pharmacy Services Inc., Rite Aid, U.S. Navy, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. "It was a great showing," said Laurie Sein, Career Services Manager for the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy. The event included both in-person and virtual interviewing opportunities as fourth-year students were on APPE rotations out-of-state or in remote areas of Colorado and unable to attend in person. The virtual interviews were set up using CU ZOOM platform, and participants simply clicked on their ZOOM meeting link to interview using the webcam and audio on their PC/device. "It made it very easy," said Sein.
