The CU Anschutz Block Party returned for its 12th year on Sept. 16, bringing faculty, students, staff, trainees and community members together for a lively late-summer celebration.
More than 170 booths showcased CU Anschutz departments alongside Aurora-area nonprofits and businesses, with plenty to see, do and take home. Attendees picked up everything from wildflower seeds, squishies, ice cream and popsicles to body warmers and stress balls. The Division of Geriatrics invited attendees to put their strength to the test with a grip strength meter, and spin-the-wheel games, cornhole and other activities kept the friendly competition going.
Fifteen food trucks offered plenty of lunch options throughout the day, while Denver-based Little Moses Jones provided the soundtrack featuring ’90s R&B, 2000s hip-hop and other crowd favorites.
But beyond the food, music and freebies, the annual tradition offered something even better: a chance for the CU Anschutz community to connect outside of classrooms, labs and offices.
“I loved seeing so many people from every corner of the campus come together on a beautiful late summer day. I’m grateful to all the exhibitors who put so much effort into their booths and elevate the event year after year,” said Zack Strober, senior director of events.
