The National Institutes of Health recently published a story about important work on-going in Colorado's San Luis Valley through the Colorado CEAL project lead by the Department of Family Medicine's own Don Nease.
CEAL stands for Community Engagement Alliance and Colorado CEAL is part of a nationwide network of CEAL projects, all committed to identifying and eliminating health disparities.
Colorado CEAL has intentionally started it's work with a COVID-19 focus and worked with community members in the San Luis Valley to take medical information around COVID vaccines and tests, and turn it into messaging and materials that are relevant, accurate, informative, attractive, and trusted in their communities.
“I’m very excited that the NIH CEAL website is featuring our home-grown Colorado Community Translation work. Our first round of these Community Translations are nearing completion or in process and I can’t wait to share the creative work they’ve done to promote COVID knowledge and decrease vaccine hesitancy in their communities," says Nease.
