Dr. Jack Spittler

Jack Spittler, MD, is the Program Director of the Department of Family Medicine's Sports Medicine Fellowship.

We are excited to announce that we have recently added 2 “tracks” to the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program.

These newly approved tracks are for an Emergency Medicine (EM) and a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) fellow, which complement our longstanding Primary Care and Pediatrics fellows.  These additions are important in that they will further our relationships with these departments and help foster collaboration within our broad University of Colorado Sports Medicine team.  Most importantly, however, this allows our fellows to have a more robust education by working with faculty from other departments and gaining insight into their unique perspectives in the field of sports medicine.

By continuing to house all of these tracks within the Department of Family Medicine, this allows us to share some of our own sports medicine goals with these other departments and the CU School of Medicine

We remain committed to “full scope” sports medicine training which includes areas such as ultrasound (both musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal), team physician work (professional, collegiate, and youth sports), care for underserved patients (AF Williams/Denver Health Lowry, Aurora Public Schools), and health disparities research in sports medicine.
