Lauren Hughes and Her New Adventure

Congratulations to the Department of Family Medicine’s (DFM) Lauren Hughes, MD, MPH.

She has been named the chair-elect of the board of directors of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).

Lauren is an associate professor of family medicine and state policy director of the Eugene S. Farley, Jr., Health Policy Center at Anschutz Medical Campus. She serves the ABFM on the Research & Development Committee, the Engagement & Communication Committee, the Certification Committee, and the Strategy Implementation & Operations Committee as its chair.

Hughes has served on the ABFM board since 2017 and says that she is looking forward to serving and advancing the organization’s important work of certifying family physicians nationwide.

“Being a continuously certified family physician is one of the ways in which I make sure that I keep up to speed on all that is happening and changing.”

Way to go, Lauren! You make us proud.
