A relaxing two-week vacation with his parents to Italy in a couple of weeks, a welcome respite from his pressure-cooker job as director of gynecologic oncology at UCHealth Cancer Care on the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus.

And then the coronavirus pandemic hit. And his world turned upside down.
