People get the best immune response if they space out their flu and COVID-19 shots, but they need to consider if they will return to get another vaccine, or if they’re likely to forget or get busy, said Jenna Guthmiller, an assistant professor of immunology and microbiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She didn’t specify how far to space them out. The shots are safe to get together. “If it’s convenient for you to get them all at the same time, just do it,” she said. “Some protection is better than no protection.”
