The Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center has donated another $250,000 to eight entities on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The charitable gifts target patient care, research and education within programs on campus that do not have consistent sources of funding.

The funds, donated through the Fitzsimons Aurora Medical Campus Foundation, Inc., have now reached more than $500,000. CU Anschutz Medical Campus entities receiving funds include CU health professional schools, UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado.

A ceremonial check was presented during a Nov. 13 foundation breakfast attended by CU Anschutz Chancellor Don Elliman; CU Anschutz deans Denise Kassebaum, DDS, MS (School of Dental Medicine), Eli Provencio-Vasquez, PhD, RN, FAAN, FAANP (College of Nursing) and Cathy Bradley, PhD (Colorado School of Public Health); Tom Gronow, EdD, MHA, president and CEO of UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital; and Raphe Schwartz, chief strategy officer of Children's Hospital Colorado.

“We are honored to have our hotel across the street from the CU Anschutz Medical Campus where groundbreaking discoveries are made every day to improve the lives of so many,” said Daniel Benton, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center. “Our goal is to continue to donate these funds to support this innovative work in any way we can.”

In May 2016, the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center formed the Fitzsimons Aurora Medical Campus Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) with a mission to support programs related to patient care, research and education on campus. The funds have accrued through a percentage of food and beverage sales at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center as well as $10 per room night booked through the Medical Campus Special Rate Plan.
