Arriving with a wide smile, Tyler was born April 27, 1993, to overjoyed parents Richard W. Jr. and Karla Whitmarsh Reed (both natives of East Bridgewater), in Summit, New Jersey, laying the foundation as oldest brother to Jake Colby and Braedon Callahan Reed.

Sharing his spark and constant love of learning with classmates across the country, Tyler attended early schools in Midlothian, VA., Broomfield, CO. and Alpharetta, GA.. He attended both Newton High, Newtown, CT. and Milton High, Milton, GA., applying his energy and becoming a standout in both the classroom and on the football field in both schools. He graduated from Milton High School in 2011.

A proud UGA alumni, he received a BS in Biology from the University of Georgia in 2015 and after considering several career paths (which even included the dream of being an astronaut) Tyler choose to pursue a career in clinical pharmacy earning his PharmD from the University of Colorado, Anschutz Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2020. Tyler was also a 2019 Rho Chi inductee and completed residencies in California and Colorado. Obtaining both New York and Massachusetts pharmacy board licenses, Tyler explored opportunities at top institutions both in Manhattan and Boston, finding his work home at St. Elizabeth's in Boston, which provided him the daily clinical challenges he required in addition to the work family and sincere colleagues he sought.

His laughter and smile proceeded him. Anyone who met Tyler learned of his varied interests quickly. A day spent with Tyler was unpredictable and could be spent fishing local Sandwich spots, snowboarding down a frigid mountain in Colorado, attempting to surf in Nantucket or California, gathering with friends to explore the city in New York or Atlanta, enjoying the beaches of South Carolina or Florida, hiking in Colorado, studying a painting in an art museum (and reading each plaque), hitting the nearest golf links, attempting to dance or play piano, discussing a new movie, sampling many a fare at a new restaurant, watching sports or simply talking and laughing for hours late into the night on the phone. In all of these activities, Tyler would read, sense, listen and absorb threads of any small needs of others--his gift. He wove these pieces together, as he did with his broad group of friends and family members, to strongly support their needs. This same group, through their shock, supports his memory today.

Tyler is survived by his parents Karla G. Whitmarsh of East Sandwich, MA. and Richard W. Reed Jr. of Buzzards Bay, MA. and his strong loving brothers, Jake C. Reed and Braedon C. Reed of East Sandwich, MA., grandparents Richard W. Reed Sr. and the late Carol A. Reed of Buzzards Bay, MA., Jean Strauss and her husband Steve Strauss of Colorado Springs, CO. and the late Richard Whitmarsh of East Bridgewater, MA., aunts and uncles Paul and Dianne Garabedian of Englewood, FL., the late Polly C. Whitmarsh, Richard and Irina Whitmarsh of Half Moon Bay, CA., Paul Reed of East Bridgewater, MA., and Mark and Maura Reed of MA., cousins Katherine Mehsling, CO., Ryan, Matthew and Nolan Reed of MA., Corey and Ben Whitmarsh of Half Moon Bay, CA. and lifelong treasured friends all who unfailingly continued the journey discovering the wonder of Tyler.

Funeral services are scheduled at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 159 Main Street, Sandwich at 10 am Friday March 8th with burial immediately following at Sandwich Town Cemetery, Sandwich, MA.
