Our focus on advancing human health tells a compelling story. Here are some highlights from our annual report:Commitment – Over the last five years, the Division of Health Care Policy and Research has increased their research and policy analysis to support and inform state agencies in their missions to improve the health and well-being of Coloradans.
Cutting Edge Research – Spurring national conversations and research efforts, the Division of Hospital Medicine’s clinical operations team is using operational science to develop an evidence-based clinical service structure that prioritizes outstanding patient care and wellness of the team.
Innovation – The Division of Hematology has developed new approaches and pioneered science on new ways to treat lymphomas and leukemias.
Partnerships – The Division of Medical Oncology, working in partnership with the University of Colorado Cancer Center, continues to provide our patients with the most modern cancer care available – from emerging immunotherapies to next-generation genetic sequencing.
Achievements – Since being ranked as a combined academic center, the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine has held the #1 or #2 position in the U.S. News & World Report rankings for pulmonary care.
Research by the Numbers – The department total research funding is $356.9M with currently 795 NIH-Funded research projects. This places us 23rd in the nation according to the Blue Ridge Institute rankings for clinical departments of medicine.
On the Horizon – Dr. Sunita Sharma, Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Mentorship is committed to developing additional programs for faculty development and enhanced mentor and mentee skills.
