Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, a hotel and conference center developed by Corporex Colorado in partnership with the City of Aurora and managed by Commonwealth Hotel Collection, LLC, donated $250,000 through the Fitzsimons Aurora Medical Campus Foundation, Inc. to eight medical campus entities including the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus health professional schools, UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital.

The charitable gifts were given to further patient care, research and education within programs on campus that do not have consistent sources of funding.

“The Hyatt Regency Aurora is a valued member of the community, and we’re grateful for their support,” said Donald Elliman, Jr., chancellor of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.

The funds were distributed at a breakfast meeting on Oct. 21 by prominent Colorado businessman and philanthropist J. Landis (Lanny) Martin, hotel co-owner as well as the chairman and managing director of Platte River Equity; along with General Manager Nick Moschetti. Other attendees included City of Aurora Mayor Bob LeGare; Christopher Gessner, president and CEO of University of Colorado Hospital; and other local leaders.

The thousands of medical experts and educators across the street are making groundbreaking discoveries every day, while saving and improving the lives of so many,” said Martin. “We are humbled, proud and thankful to support this work in any way we can.”

In May 2016, Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center formed the Fitzsimons Aurora Medical Campus Foundation, Inc. with a mission to support programs related to patient care, research and education within programs on campus.

The funds have accrued and have been contributed to this 501(c)(3) through a percentage of food and beverage sales at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center as well as $10 per room night booked through the Medical Campus Special Rate Plan.
